Well, most of the Christmas Give-A-Ways are over for another period. DOWNLOAD MANIA can take a back seat and those who participated and received some useful products, can start to advertise them on the Internet and earn some money. Well, I'm right, aren't I? After all, isn't that what we all downloaded them for? I know a lot of things that I downloaded will probably NEVER be looked at! How's that for honesty?
You probably received the same type of emails that I did. One 'GURU' told us to make sure we downloaded EVERYTHING because "you just never know when you might need it and wouldn't you feel stupid if you had to pay for it when you could have received it for free!" Another 'GURU' email stated to "download only what you needed because you should focus on your direction and not get confused by downloading 'junk' (his words) that you didn't need."
I will reiterate my statement that I made last issue. It's an email harvest - full stop! I also highlighted in the last issue, a 'problem' that was occurring with one of the Give-A-Ways. (You can read it by clicking HERE if you missed it) I continue that review in this issue.

Today's article is titled, "Is THIS in the Christmas Spirit? - Revisited"
I reported in the last issue, that the 117 Christmas Gifts Give-A-Way was causing some concern, because the organizers threw a curve ball to participants, that only gave them 1/2 of the gifts and participants had to sign up three others to gain access to the rest of the gifts. Ho-Ho-Hold on just a minute!
I finished off the article with a blog post from one of the organizers, which advised that due to all of the bad responses to the 'get 3 to join' proviso, the entire 117 gifts would be made available to everyone from December 19th.
Myself, along with many others, who were either promoters or participants, thought that this was a perfect resolution and would solve everyone's concerns. We started promoting it again to our lists as 'credibility' had been restored. WRONG!
I noticed that the 'get three to join proviso' remained on the website. I also noticed that Volume 2 was still not available to actually download anything. Yes, they had increased the number of downloadable items in Volume 1 to 117, but the eBooks and programs I was interested in getting, were still inaccessible in Volume 2.
I was about to email Henry for an explanation when I received his email. It follows, unedited.

made a post with a title "Post Your Issue About Not
Downloadable Products". We want you to TELL US ALL.
Once you post your concerns, we will investigate the
contributors immediately, and will temporary delisted
the product line, until they meet our requirement. If
we found out after probation period, the contributor
still do the same, we will PERMANENTLY close their
accounts.
B. Post On 117ChristmasGifts.com's Forum once You
Receive Vol.II Access.
We've created a new post on the discussion forums
with a subject line:

It seems they continued their 'refer 3 people' to gain access to Volume 2. I love the way Henry 'begs' you to 'blast the blog with your positive comments,' but if you have negative ones, email him. Sorry folks, this whole saga has made me very wary of ever participating in this one again. I seriously question the organizer's intentions and cannot believe their tactics, their misleading information and the fact that they haven't done their homework. It went smoothly the first time. Did they get too greedy? Who knows?

There are seasoned marketers out there, that are treating their Subscribers and/or potential customers, as being out and out dummies! I take offence at their 'belittlement' of my intelligence and cannot believe that they are so 'up themselves,' that they think ANY breathing person would buy their BS garbage.

DaOnce Upon A WizTime
~ Revealing the 'personal' side of your Editor ~
Held in the Magical and Mystical Gardens that surround Castle DOSE
Relax in the serenity and enjoy the smell of the flowers.
Approximately 5 years ago, I left my above-ground pool unmaintenanced. I told my Sister-In-Law that I was waiting on ducks to come and make their home in it. She told me that there was no way that ducks would visit. Within a week, two ducks made my pool their home! We named them JenJen and Kwackles. Both ducks kept returning and they brought other ducks with them. There have been times when there has been 7 ducks swimming around in the pool. They are wild ducks but I can hand feed them. They are very trusting.
Two months ago, Kwackles had babies AT MY NEIGHBOR'S HOUSE! I was shattered at the news. I had fed her for 5 years and she chose to have her family elsewhere. It wasn't fair!
In early December, I noticed one of the 'newer' duck visitors, jump off the side of our pool and disappear into the surrounding bushes. I became excited! I kept a vigil until I saw her come out and fly off. When I checked the area where she had been, I found a nest with at least 5 white eggs in it. I was ELATED at the find! I checked it daily every time she flew off and researched incubation times, etc.
On Wednesday, 28th December, I awoke to the sound of little chirping sounds. I rushed outside to find a proud mummy duck showing off her NINE newborn ducklings! Honestly, I cried at this beautiful sight. There were 8 little yellow faced ducklings and one with a white face. I immediately nicknamed him 'Whitey.'
Well, as always happens in nature, the 'smallest,' the 'odd one out,' the 'ugly duckling,' always gets singled out and Whitey was the obvious candidate from day 1. Mummy duck would grab him and try and hold him under the water. He was smart though. He would see her coming and vanish underwater, bobbing up somewhere away from her. When mummy duck was at one end of the pool with the rest of the ducklings, Whitey was down the other end in the pool's skimmer box. It was really sad to see. He had done nothing wrong to deserve to be singled out like he was and he appeared to be so lonely.
Well, when day 3 arrived, we experienced our hottest day for our current Summer. It was 42.5 degrees Celsius (108.5 degrees Fahrenheit). During the course of the day, Whitey disappeared. Where he went or what happened to him, I have no idea. It seemed fate played it's hand and the unwanted Whitey just vanished!
What has this to do with my New Year's Resolution?
Well, I am already the 'ugly duckling,' so my New Year's Resolution is to continue with the attitude that little Whitey displayed in his short time on this planet! I am going to be the non-conformist and the odd-one out in everything that I do on the Internet in 2006. It will set me apart from everyone else and contribute to my success. I always look for signs. THIS was clearly one for me! I must have known something like this was going to happen, when I conceived the idea for this Ezine. You must admit, it IS different from anything else out there.
So that's it - well almost. No story is complete without photographs, so I have created a page showing my duck family, with a couple of snaps showing little Whitey. You can view it HERE.

It Looks Like This Car's Shot
LAUDERDALE-BY-THE-SEA, Fla. - News emerged on Wednesday that
a 64-year-old man was jailed for shooting his own car at
point-blank range. Broward Sheriff's Office spokesman, Hugh
Graf, said John McGivney, 64, walked out of his apartment
with a .380 caliber semi-automatic pistol in his hand Friday
afternoon. The man walked up to his 1994 Chrysler LeBaron,
paused, and then fired five rounds into the hood. The sound
of shots brought the property manager, George Haberkorn, running,
who asked McGivney what he was doing. "I'm putting my
car out of its misery, George," McGivney said before walking
back inside. With a bullhorn, Broward sheriff's deputies
ordered McGivney out with his hands up. He complied and was
charged with a firearms violation.
Nature Calls and Two Shots Fire
SAN ANTONIO, Texas - According to a police spokesman, an off-
Duty police officer was attending an auto auction when he
had to use the washroom. When Officer Craig Clancy lowered
his pants in the restroom his pistol fell from his waist.
When it reached the floor two shots rang out. One bullet
hit the floor tile and the other caught the leg of a
bystander washing his hands. The injured man was treated
for the gun shot at a nearby hospital. Officer Clancy is
currently under investigation by internal affairs.

Even though Subscribers were busy enjoying the Season, some managed to send feedback re my Christmas Day Edition. It was unexpected but very much appreciated.
All feedback mentioned the debacle that manifested itself over at 117ChristmasGiftsGiveaway. The most common comment, was that it was totally avoidable and that the organizers just couldn't see the concerns that were being expressed by many people. They were too busy 'paddling their own canoe' about how hard they had worked on the set-up and how they couldn't understand why people who were getting stuff for free were complaining.
Like some others who emailed me about this, I almost became a contributor but didn't agree with their original 'rules' so I chose not to participate. If I had, and all this happened, I would have been even more disappointed.
Feedback is important. Likewise, acknowledgement of that feed back is just as important. COMMUNICATION is the KEY. Operating behind a closed or locked door, will result in failure. Keep the COMMUNICATION door, OPEN at ALL TIMES!
