If you have an affiliate program, and you choose to use Stormpay, you can ONLY offer Stormpay as a payment option. The other alternative, is to not use them at all and use any other payment processor of your choice.

So if you have an affiliate Program, or have webpages that offer Stormpay in conjunction with any other payment processor, you need to make alterations, as you can no longer offer Stormpay as an alternative. Stormpay can ONLY be offered if it is the ONLY payment processor you are using.

With Paypal recently changing their Policy about multi-tiered opportunities using their Service, this current move by Stormpay perhaps isn't a bad thing. Stormpay now outranks Paypal as being the most preferred Payment Processor.

Due to high volumes of fraudulent transactions made to merchants with commission based business models, StormPay can no longer process payments for those type of merchants who choose to accept more than one payment processing solution.

Using more than one payment processor is exactly the situation that “fraud” seeks out. This enables the fraudulent user to set up a fake profile with either of the processors, make a purchase or join the program, and then withdraw their earnings to the other processor where the real identity is used. This sort of activity makes it nearly impossible for either processor, or law enforcement to properly handle the fraud because the “trail” comes to an end. This is the cause for a great many chargebacks to those merchants which can be avoided.

As of 1/30/2006 StormPay must require Merchants with a commissioned based business model who choose to accept StormPay, to only accept StormPay. StormPay certainly does not wish to dictate how our merchants run their business, all merchants are free to choose any processing solution that best suits their needs. We understand you have choices and certainly hope that choice is the online leader – StormPay. However, if another payment solution is used, please immediately remove StormPay from the associated website as a funding option and continue to use the StormPay account funds to finish payments to those members who paid using their StormPay account.

Well, your feedback re my Article in the last Edition concerning marketing 'hype,' 'ploys' and 'copy cat' marketers, showed that you agreed with my comments and that you were sick and tired of what was going on. Most concluded that it would be a continuing trend.

An update/summary of what's been happening in this arena.

Event Number 1:

Mike Filsaime's Butterfly Marketing - The wings are still flapping and the emails haven't abated. To purchase the Course and software will set you back OVER $1,000.00 including delivery. Did you get all of the emails from others trying to bribe you into buying the Course through THEIR link and offering all kinds of extra's? The best one I saw was one marketer offering a choice of laptop or DVD player shipped to you anywhere in the World if you used HIS affiliate link. It was all too much and I tuned out when Mike didn't accept my offer to proof read his Course for him. LOL How shallow I can be at times. :o)

Mike's Butterfly Effect Marketing, ( BEM ) states that the simple fluttering of a butterfly's wings on the other side of the World, can effect the outcome of circumstances far, far away. He states that such an effect could mean that a possible Tornado never forms over Utah as a result. That's the positive side of the Butterfly Effect that he is promoting. In doing so, he HAS to ALSO consider the possibilty that the same effect CAN cause that very same Tornado, or any other disaster, to happen somewhere else!

My comment: Great concept I reckon. It apparently works according to those who have been using it for 18 months or so, but I won't be buying it! From today, BEM to me stands for Bullshit Equals Moolah! Comment on this section by clicking HERE

Event Number 2:

Song Chengxiang's Copy Cat Attempt - "The Best High Ticket Deal Ever"

I think I received a grand total of 7 emails regarding this event, and 5 of them were from Song himself! I checked it out and, quite frankly, I was VERY disappointed, not for myself but for Song. His JV partners were mostly new participants, but what was being offered was the same old, same old! His advertising said differently but it was the same stuff that had been offered before. I am happy that I didn't win his give-a-way because I would have insulted him by not accepting it. I emailed him and expressed my opinion. He didn't answer.

My comment: If you are going to try and steal someone's thunder, do your homework and perhaps consider NOT taking on the Big Guys when you are NOT up to the challenge. Overall result for all of his efforts - A BIG FLOP! Comment on this section by clicking HERE

The responses I received to my perception that there was an Internet Marketing 'War' happening, all agreed with me. Many felt that this 'war' has occurred because everyone is desperate for sales and thay are prepared to do ANYTHING to get them. Rest assured, I am NOT one of them!

While you are taking a breather, I want to discuss the practice of Email Harvesting.

You've all seen them before. Ads telling you that you can earn $1.00 for every email collected. Well, the other day I received one such email, but the person posting to the Safelist forgot to put in the URL for her opportunity, so I emailed her and asked for the URL address. I received a 'prewritten' response with her details entered in a different font throughout the letter. OK I thought. I am dealing with a newbie.

I checked out the URL and found that it was an opportunity that promoted the use of their Email Harvester to gather people's email addresses, for bulk mailing purposes, from the free Classified Ad websites. To participate, you paid $1.00 up front and then $10.00 per month. Now I consider Email Harvesting to be an illegal practice, so I emailed her back and sincerely suggested she RUN FOR THE HILLS!

I think she must have emailed it to her sponsor to answer, or to the program organizer, because I received one lengthy and abusive email in return! In short, it said that their operation was 'legal' because they always put their Disclaimer at the bottom of all emails that they send out to the gathered addresses. You know, the one that says they comply with the SPAM Laws because they provide a 'Remove Me' option. They also stated that people who post to these free Classified Ad websites agree to allow the other participants to email their offers to them so it makes it 'legal' for their Company to do the same.

I responded and told him/her/they, that the SPAM Law that they quote was NEVER passed and therefore CANNOT be used as a justification that what they are doing is legal. I also pointed out, that when I post to the majority of Classified Ad Websites, I do so with the knowledge that I will receive emails back from the Website Owner ONLY and NOT every Tom, Dick or Mary that also uses the service.

I also took the opportunity to define SPAM - the receipt of UNREQUESTED emails containing Advertising. If they sent me advertising to my 'harvested' email address, since I HAVEN'T requested it, it would constitute SPAM! I included copies of articles that, in EVERY INSTANCE, linked email harvesting operations with the term SPAM.

You know the answer I received in return?

They told me NOT to join their Company as I apparently have the wrong attitude to be successful on the Internet! They told me to 'get a life' as I must have too much time on my hands to spend telling them what's right and wrong. If they received any more emails from me, they were going to report me for spamming them!

Guess what? I took their advice. LOL There was NO WAY I was EVER going to win the debate, so I took the 'cease and desist' posture. Some people will just never listen. They tend to find ways to justify whatever it is that they are doing, whether it's illegal or not. It's like using the attitude, "Well, if I didn't steal it, somebody else would have."

Sorry! NOT ACCEPTABLE! Any Comments?

My little ducklings have grown HUGE! Mummy duck hasn't been around for the past 7 days, leaving them to fend for themselves. They are doing very well under my guidance. *smiles*

There are still 8 of them and there is still one being picked on by the others. He still isn't included in any of the group activities, eats on his own and also sleeps on his own under my son's 'spare' car. He is going to make it through all of this and be a good role model for other ducks, I'm sure.

My biggest concern is, if mummy duck doesn't return soon, am I going to have to teach them how to fly?

I am always amazed by coincidences that happen.

Last issue, Rachel had a whinge about people requesting info and then not having the decency to answer your emails.

This prompted the following response from Linda which constitutes FEEDBACK and a WHINGE all in one!

I totally agree with Rachel ~ people seem to love wasting another's time. Whether their intentions are good when they fill out the form or they have nothing better to do, who's to say?

My particular business requires that I speak with people on the telephone in order to set an appointment for a free online demonstration. People will often set an appointment and then not answer their phone at the designated time. Of course, if I leave a message, they don't call back.

Then there are those who, when you call at the time THEY designated, tell you they're too busy, haven't had time to review the site, etc., etc. and ask you to call back at another designated time. This can go on indefinitely. I even had one woman try to disguise her voice and tell me she wasn't there. LOL

Now, these people have ASKED for information. If I ignored them, they would say I gave poor customer service. Go figure!

I guess there are just a lot of people out there who enjoy wasting another person's time. Maybe it's a new leisure sport! I really try to give them the benefit of the doubt but when the same person continually plays this game, it becomes more than annoying. If they aren't interested in what you're offering, it would be so much simpler just to say so. Then you could spend your time with people who have a legitimate interest in your business.

Thank goodness these individuals are in the minority and that most of the people who contact me are courteous and sincere.

Hello again!

Here is my latest whinge - rude aggressive marketers!

Last week I enquired about the Dream Team marketing course and exchanged a couple of emails with a guy promoting it. I asked him to call me before 5pm to discuss it further. He didn't, he called at 7.30pm just as I got in from outside and I was wet through, the cats and dog were pestering for their food, my dinner was in the oven (care of attentive boyfriend) and I just wanted to get changed and sit and have a beer.

So the phone goes and it is this guy saying he has reserved my place on a special live call at 8.00pm. I explained it really wasn't a good time and I had asked him to call me earlier. He was then very rude telling me he had called at an inconvenient time to see if I was truly serious about my business and if I was I would miss my dinner! I told him I was not going to the call but would attend another one if there was one. He said there were no more calls for a week or so.

I then emailed him the next day to say I had found him rude and wasn't interested. He emailed back to apologise but that is what he had been taught to do to get people on the call and make a sale. As it happened there was another call that night. I attended and it was awful, it was not live, totally scripted and full of hype. When I emailed to say I was definitely not interested I got blasted with a long email about how I would never succeed and I had wasted his time!

I understand from others involved in the Dream Team that this hard push technique is one of the methods taught. The calls are pre-recorded and available 24/7. This kind of deception and unethical marketing technique is awful. I for one would not touch the Dream Team with a barge pole having seen one of their marketers in action!

In the last Edition, I included some 'tongue in cheek' humor that 'appeared' to be anti-female as 2 people pointed out to me. (One was serious and one just wanted to rattle my cage - LOL) I accepted both and didn't mean to offend anybody.

A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each other the silent treatment. Suddenly, the man realized that the next day, he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight.

Not wanting to be the first to break the silence, he wrote on a piece of paper, "Please wake me at 5:00 AM." He left it where he knew she would find it.

The next morning, the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM and he had missed his flight! Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't wakened him, when he noticed a piece of paper by the bed.

The paper said, "It is 5:00 AM. Wake up."

A man was sick and tired of going to work every day while his wife stayed home. He wanted her to see what he went through so he prayed:

"Dear Lord: I go to work every day and put in 8 hours while my wife merely stays at home. I want her to know what I go through, so please allow her body to switch with mine for a day. Amen."

God, in his infinite wisdom, granted the man's wish.

The next morning, sure enough, the man awoke as woman. He arose, cooked breakfast for his mate, awakened the kids, set out their school clothes, fed them breakfast, packed their lunches, drove them to school, came home and picked up the dry cleaning, took it to the cleaners and stopped at the bank to make a deposit.

He then went grocery shopping, drove home to put away the groceries, paid the bills and balanced the checkbook. He cleaned the cat's litter box and bathed the dog. Then it was already 1 P.M. and he hurried to make the beds, do the laundry, vacuum, dust, and sweep and mop the kitchen floor.

He ran to the school to pick up the kids and got into an argument with them on the way home. He set out milk and cookies and got the kids organized to do their homework, then set up the ironing board and watched TV while he did the ironing.

At 4:30, he began peeling potatoes and washing vegetables for salad, breaded the pork chops and snapped fresh beans for supper.

After supper, he cleaned the kitchen, ran the dishwasher, folded laundry, bathed the kids, and put them to bed.

At 9 P.M. he was exhausted and, though his daily chores weren't finished, he went to bed where he was expected to make love, which he managed to get through without complaint.

The next morning, he awoke and immediately knelt by the bed and said, "Lord, I don't know what I was thinking. I was so wrong to envy my wife's being able to stay home all day. Please, oh please, let us trade back."

The Lord, in his infinite wisdom, replied, "My son, I feel you have learned your lesson and I will be happy to change things back to the way they were. You'll just have to wait nine months, though. You forgot to take any precautions and you got pregnant last night."
